Our downsizers permanent move to the island resulted in the purchase of a beautiful cottage in a well-established olive grove. The cottage was in need of a full scale renovation and Island Interiors was engaged to update the layout as well as all finishes and fittings.

This creative couple knew how they wanted the house to feel and their brief was to create a space to display their curated art and objects both inherited and collected throughout the years.

Island Interiors created a modern, open blank canvas to honour these pieces. With a change of floor plan for flow and function, the aim was to create spaces that maximised the limited space. Storage was key and carefully integrated in every area. A mix of modern, vintage and natural finishes creates interest while keeping this mono-chromatic colour scheme simple and fresh.

We loved being involved in bringing this beautiful cottage back to life and creating a home for our client’s new adventure on Waiheke.
